Yakibuta Ramen

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Pork belly
  • 100 ml Soy Sauce
  • 100 ml Mirin
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 pcs Garlic cloves
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 1.5 l Chicken Stock
  • 1 tsp White pepper
  • 4 servings Cooked Ramen Noodles
  • 4 pcs Boiled Eggs
  • 2 pcs Spring Onions
  • 100 g Bamboo shoots

Instructions:

  1. Cut the pork belly into large chunks and sear them until browned.
  2. Mix the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, chopped garlic and ginger together in a bowl.
  3. Put the pork belly in a pot, pour the soy sauce mixture on top, and turn on low heat. Let it simmer for about 2 hours.
  4. Prepare the stock by heat up the chicken stock, add white pepper for some spices.
  5. Boil the ramen noodles according to package instructions and drain.
  6. To serve, ladle the broth into a bowl and add the noodles. Top with sliced pork belly, a boiled egg cut in half, and sprinkle with chopped spring onions and bamboo shoots.
