Thai Style Steamed Fish

Ingredients:

  • 2 piece White fish fillet
  • 2 stalks Lemongrass
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 1 piece Red chili
  • 3 leaves Lime leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Fish sauce
  • 1 piece Lime
  • 1 teaspoon Brown sugar
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • handful Coriander

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the fish by cleaning and placing them on a plate which you can later move into your steamer.
  2. Crush lemongrass stalks, finely chop the garlic cloves and red chili. Slice lime leaves and ginger into thin strips and set all aside
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together fish sauce, juice from the lime, and brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Combine all the ingredients: pour the sauce onto the fish and then evenly distribute lemongrass, garlic, chili, lime leaves and ginger over the fish.
  5. Place the plate with the fish in a steamer and let it steam for about 15 to 20 minutes or until fish is nicely cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve immediately. This dish can be serves as a snack in smaller portions, or as a main course for a lighter dinner.
