
Tamago Kake Gohan (Japanese Egg Rice)

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Japanese short grain rice
- 1.5 cups Water
- 2 Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds
- 1 stalk Green onions
- 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
Instructions:
- First, rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Combine the rinsed rice and water in a saucepan, bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan and let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water has been absorbed.
- Crack an egg into a bowl, and beat it lightly. Add soy sauce and sesame oil into the bowl, mix it with the beaten egg.
- Once the rice is cooked, take it off from the heat and let it sit with the lid on for about 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a rice paddle or a fork. Pour the egg mixture over the hot rice, stir it well until the rice is evenly coated with the egg mixture.
- Chop the green onion stalk into fine pieces, and sprinkle them with sesame seeds on top of the rice.
- Serve the Tamago Kake Gohan immediately, while it's still hot.
