Sweet and Sour Pork

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Pork
  • 1 piece Green bell pepper
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 can Pineapple chunks
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup White vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp Ketchup
  • for frying Vegetable Oil

Instructions:

  1. Cut the pork into 1-inch pieces and toss them in a bowl with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. In a deep pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil and fry the pork pieces until golden brown. Remove them and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté the garlic, bell pepper, and onion until tender.
  4. Add the pineapple chunks (with juice), vinegar, sugar, and ketchup to the pan. Bring it to a simmer.
  5. Return the fried pork to the pan and stir to coat with the sauce. Cook for another couple of minutes until everything is well combined.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
