
Steamed Fish with Ginger and Scallions

Ingredients:
- 1 about 2 lbs Whole white fish (such as sea bass, snapper)
- 2 inch sliced Fresh ginger
- 5 stalks Scallions
- 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
- 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- to taste White pepper
- handful optional Cilantro leaves
Instructions:
- 1. Clean the whole fish and pat it dry. Make several diagonal cuts on each side of the fish.
- 2. Stuff the ginger slices into the cuts and inside the fish. Place the fish on a plate suitable for steaming.
- 3. Prepare a steamer and steam the fish for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- 4. While the fish is steaming, finely slice the scallions and set aside. Heat the soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper in a small saucepan until hot, but don't boil.
- 5. Once the fish is cooked, pour off any excess liquid on the plate. Evenly pour the sauce over the fish.
- 6. Scatter the sliced scallions and optional cilantro leaves over the fish. Serve your steamed fish with ginger and scallions immediately, along with rice. Enjoy your healthy Chinese dinner!
