Ingredients:

  • 1 about 2 lbs Whole white fish (such as sea bass, snapper)
  • 2 inch sliced Fresh ginger
  • 5 stalks Scallions
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • to taste White pepper
  • handful optional Cilantro leaves

Instructions:

  1. 1. Clean the whole fish and pat it dry. Make several diagonal cuts on each side of the fish.

  3. 3. Prepare a steamer and steam the fish for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  4. 4. While the fish is steaming, finely slice the scallions and set aside. Heat the soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper in a small saucepan until hot, but don't boil.
