Spicy Yakitori Chicken Skewers

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 pounds Boneless Chicken Thighs
  • 0.5 cups Soy Sauce
  • 0.5 cups Mirin
  • 1 tablespoons Sugar
  • 3 pcs Garlic Cloves
  • 1 inch piece Fresh ginger
  • 1.5 teaspoon Red Chilli Flakes
  • 4 pcs Green Onions
  • 10 pcs Skewers

Instructions:

  1. Soak the skewers in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sugar, finely grated garlic, grated ginger, and red chilli flakes. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  3. Cut the boneless chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and skewer them. Make sure to leave a little space between the pieces so they can cook evenly.
  4. On a pre-heated grill (medium heat), start grilling the skewered chicken. Brush the sauce frequently to keep them moist and so they can absorb the flavors.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 5 minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
