Spicy Vegetable Pakoras

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Gram flour (Besan)
  • as needed Water
  • 1 large Potato
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 2 Green chilies
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • to taste Salt
  • for deep frying Oil

Instructions:

  1. Slice the potato, onion, chilies, and ginger thinly. Chop the spinach finely.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the gram flour, turmeric, chili powder, and salt.
  3. Gradually add water to the mixture until it forms a thick batter.
  4. Add the vegetables to the batter and mix well.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep pan. When the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the oil.
  6. Fry the pakoras until they are golden brown on all sides.
  7. Remove the pakoras with a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels.
  8. Serve the hot pakoras with ketchup or chutney.
