Spicy Tamago Kake Gohan (TKG)

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups Japanese short-grain rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1 stalk, finely chopped Green onion
  • To taste Furikake (Japanese rice seasoning)

Instructions:

  1. Wash the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Add rinsed rice and water to the rice cooker and cook as per instructions.
  2. While rice is cooking, in a separate bowl, beat the eggs until yolks and whites are fully combined.
  3. Mix in soy sauce and sriracha sauce with the beaten eggs.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, portion it into two bowls.
  5. Pour half of the spicy egg mixture over each bowl of hot rice.
  6. Top with furikake and finely chopped green onion.
  7. Stir the ingredients together and enjoy your spicy tamago kake gohan!
