Spicy Shrimp and Grits

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Shrimp
  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups Chicken Stock
  • 1 cup Stone-Ground Grits
  • 1 cup Cream
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese

Instructions:

  1. Peel and devein the shrimp, and season them with cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper. Set aside.
  2. In a large pot, bring the chicken stock to a boil. Slowly stir in the grits, reduce the heat to low, and cover. Let simmer for around 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, 1-2 minutes. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for about 5-6 minutes, or until they are pink and cooked through.
  4. Once the grits are done cooking, stir in the cream and cheddar cheese, and season with more salt and pepper if needed.
  5. Serve the cooked shrimp over the creamy grits and enjoy your spicy seafood breakfast.
