
Spicy Kerala-Style Shrimp

Ingredients:
- 1 pound shrimp
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 2 sprigs curry leaves
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 medium sized onion
- 2 pieces green chili
Instructions:
- Clean and de-vein the shrimp.
- Mix the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Marinate the cleaned shrimp with this mixture and set aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, fennel seeds, and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add finely chopped garlic.
- Sauté until garlic turns gold. Add thinly sliced onions and green chilis. Sauté until it turns slightly brown.
- Add the marinated shrimp and toss on high heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Lower the heat, cover the pan and cook for another 5 minutes, or until the shrimps are cooked.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
