Servings: 4

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups uncooked rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 sprigs chopped green onions
  • 5 pieces sliced radishes
  • 4 pieces halved boiled eggs

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until water runs clear. This is to remove the excess starch.
  2. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, add the rice and reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
  3. While the rice is cooking, in a separate bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes to make the spicy sauce.
  4. Once the rice is done, divide it into 4 serving bowls.
  5. Drizzle the spicy sauce evenly over each bowl of rice. Top with green onions, radishes and halved boiled eggs.
  6. Serve your spicy Japanese rice bowl immediately while hot and enjoy!
