Spicy Japanese Pork Ramen

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Pork shoulder
  • 2 lt Low sodium chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 4 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp Chili oil
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 4 packets Ramen noodles
  • 3 Green onions
  • 4 Boiled eggs
  • 2 tbsp Sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, add the pork shoulder, chicken broth, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, chili oil, and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for about 2 hours, or until the pork is very tender.
  3. While the soup is simmering, you can prepare the toppings. Slice the green onions and set aside. On a separate plate, cut the boiled eggs in half.
  4. After the soup has simmered for 2 hours, remove the pork from the pot and shred it using two forks. Then, return the shredded pork to the pot.
  5. Cook the ramen noodles according to the packet instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  6. To serve, divide the ramen noodles among 4 bowls. Ladle the broth and pork over the noodles. Garnish with the sesame seeds, green onions, and a halved boiled egg.
  7. Enjoy your spicy Japanese pork ramen while hot, but be careful, as it's quite spicy!
