Spicy Japanese Pork Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Pork loin
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin
  • 1 tablespoon Sake
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 cups Rice
  • 3 pieces Spring Onions
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger

Instructions:

  1. Prepare rice according to package instructions.
  2. Slice pork loin into thin slices.
  3. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and red pepper flakes to create marinade.
  4. Add sliced pork to the marinade and let sit for 10 minutes.
  5. Mince garlic and ginger and finely chop spring onions.
  6. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a bit of oil, garlic, ginger, and white parts of spring onions. Stir until fragrant.
  7. Add the marinated pork, keeping the excess marinade aside. Cook pork until no longer pink.
  8. Pour in the remaining marinade and stir. Let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
  9. Serve the pork over rice and garnish with the green parts of the spring onions. Enjoy your spicy Japanese pork bowl!
