
Spicy Japanese Chicken Donburi

Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups Japanese short grain rice
- 2 pieces chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 stalks green onions
- 2 pieces garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Cook the rice following the package instructions.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, red pepper flakes, ginger, minced garlic, and half of the chopped green onions.
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and marinate them in the sauce for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces, saving the marinade for later.
- Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, then add the remaining marinade to the pan.
- Allow the mixture to simmer until the sauce is thickened.
- Serve the chicken over the cooked rice, garnished with the remaining green onions and sesame seeds.
