Spicy Japanese Beef Yakitori

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams Beef sirloin
  • 60 milliliters Soy sauce
  • 60 milliliters Mirin
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 4 Green onions
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili flakes

Instructions:

  1. Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
  3. Marinate the beef in the sauce for at least 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the grill to high heat.
  5. Skewer the beef and green onions alternately onto bamboo skewers.
  6. Grill the skewers on each side for 2-3 minutes, until well browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. Sprinkle the beef yakitori with sesame seeds before serving.
