
Spicy Indian Shrimp Biryani

Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoon Oil
- 2 medium, finely chopped Onions
- 2 cloves, minced Garlic
- 1 inch, grated Ginger
- 2 pieces, chopped Green chili
- 250 grams, peeled and deveined Shrimp
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
- 2 teaspoon Biryani masala
- 1 cup Basmati Rice
- 2 cups Water
- 1/4 cup, chopped Fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup, chopped Fresh mint
- 1 Juice of half a lemon
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a large pan on medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook until the raw smell goes away.
- Add the chopped green chilies and cook for a couple of minutes.
- Next, add the shrimp, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and biryani masala. Mix well ensuring the shrimp is well coated with the spices. Cook until the shrimp is half-cooked.
- In the meantime, rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Add the rice to the pan, and stir well.
- Add two cups of water to the pan, and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is completely absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and add the fresh cilantro, mint, and lemon juice. Mix well.
