Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 medium, finely chopped Onions
  • 2 cloves, minced Garlic
  • 1 inch, grated Ginger
  • 2 pieces, chopped Green chili
  • 250 grams, peeled and deveined Shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon Biryani masala
  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/4 cup, chopped Fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup, chopped Fresh mint
  • 1 Juice of half a lemon

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large pan on medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook until the raw smell goes away.
  3. Add the chopped green chilies and cook for a couple of minutes.
  4. Next, add the shrimp, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and biryani masala. Mix well ensuring the shrimp is well coated with the spices. Cook until the shrimp is half-cooked.
  5. In the meantime, rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Add the rice to the pan, and stir well.
