Spicy Indian Seafood Curry

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams seafood mix (prawns, squid, mussels)
  • 1 piece onion
  • 2 pieces garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece fresh ginger
  • 1 piece green chili
  • 10 leaves curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • to taste salt
  • a few leaves coriander leaves for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, ginger, and green chili. Fry until the onion becomes translucent.
  2. Add the curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Stir well.
  3. Add the seafood mix to the pan and toss to coat in the spices. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the seafood is half-cooked.
  4. Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a simmer. Cook for another 10-15 minutes, until the seafood is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Add the lemon juice and salt to taste. Stir well, then remove from heat.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving. Serve hot with steamed rice or Indian bread.
