Spicy Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilly powder
  • 3 tablespoons Sunflower oil
  • 2 medium Onions
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1 cup Tomato puree
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • to taste Salt
  • for garnish Fresh coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts with the yogurt, lemon juice, turmeric, cumin, garam masala and chilly powder. Let it sit for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken until they are fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining oil and saute the onions, garlic, and ginger until they are translucent.
  4. Add the tomato puree, cream, and salt and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Add the cooked chicken pieces to the sauce and mix well.
  6. Let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the flavors combine.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
