Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 unit Eggs
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Mirin
- 1 tsp Vegetable Oil
Instructions:
- 1. Start by breaking the eggs in a bowl. Add sugar, salt, soy sauce and mirin.
- 2. Whisk the egg mixture until the ingredients are well combined.
- 3. Heat a large non-stick pan on medium heat and add oil.
- 4. Pour a thin layer of egg mixture into the pan and spread it evenly by tilting the pan.
- 5. Once the omelet starts to set but is still slightly raw on top, roll it towards one end of the pan with a spatula.
- 6. Push that rolled omelet to the side, and then add more oil to the pan, and pour another layer of egg mixture to create the next layer of omelet.
- 7. Roll the second layer around the first layer just like you did for the first layer.
- 8. Repeat the process until the egg mixture is used up. The omelet will gradually get larger.
- 9. Remove the omelet from the pan and let it rest for 3-4 minutes before cutting into pieces.
- 10. Serve the Tamagoyaki with some soy sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your quick and easy Japanese lunch!
