Servings: 2

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 unit Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Mirin
  • 1 tsp Vegetable Oil

Instructions:

  1. 1. Start by breaking the eggs in a bowl. Add sugar, salt, soy sauce and mirin.
  2. 2. Whisk the egg mixture until the ingredients are well combined.
  3. 3. Heat a large non-stick pan on medium heat and add oil.
  4. 4. Pour a thin layer of egg mixture into the pan and spread it evenly by tilting the pan.
  5. 5. Once the omelet starts to set but is still slightly raw on top, roll it towards one end of the pan with a spatula.
  6. 6. Push that rolled omelet to the side, and then add more oil to the pan, and pour another layer of egg mixture to create the next layer of omelet.
  7. 7. Roll the second layer around the first layer just like you did for the first layer.
  8. 8. Repeat the process until the egg mixture is used up. The omelet will gradually get larger.
  9. 9. Remove the omelet from the pan and let it rest for 3-4 minutes before cutting into pieces.
  10. 10. Serve the Tamagoyaki with some soy sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your quick and easy Japanese lunch!
