Quick & Easy Japanese Beef Bowl (Gyudon)

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 lb Beef ribeye or sirloin
  • 1 large Onion
  • 4 cups Cooked rice
  • 1 cup Dashi stock or water
  • 4 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Mirin
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 for garnish Green onions

Instructions:

  1. Thinly slice the beef and onion.
  2. In a large skillet, combine the beef, onion, dashi (or water), soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the onion is tender.
  4. Serve the beef and onion mixture over the cooked rice.
  5. Garnish with the green onions, and serve immediately.
