
Quick & Easy Indian Breakfast Rice Pulao

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 2 cups Water
- 2 tablespoons Ghee or oil
- 1 medium size, finely chopped Onion
- 2 finely chopped Green chillies
- 1 teaspoon, grated Ginger
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 cup, finely chopped Cilantro
Instructions:
- Wash the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 10 minutes then drain.
- Heat the oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion, green chillies and grated ginger. Sauté until onions turn translucent.
- Drain the rice and add it into the pan. Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder and mix everything together. Stir fry for about 2 minutes.
- Pour in 2 cups of water and give it a good stir. Cover the pan and let it cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
- Garnish the rice with finely chopped cilantro. Fluff the rice gently with fork before serving.
