Quick & Easy Chinese Breakfast Fish Congee

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams White fish fillets
  • 1 cup Jasmine rice
  • 8 cups Water
  • 4 stalks Green onions
  • 2 slices Ginger
  • to taste Soy Sauce
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until water runs clear.
  2. In a large pot, add the rinsed rice, water, and ginger slices. Bring to a boil on high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is broken down into a porridge-like consistency.
  4. Chop the white fish fillets into bite-size pieces and add it to the pot. Cook until the fish is fully cooked, about 5 minutes.
  5. Chop the green onions into small rounds and add to the pot. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Season the congee with soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste.
