Quick & Easy American Mac and Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Elbow Macaroni
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 cups, shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp White Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in flour to form a roux, cooking for about 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, then bring to a boil, continually whisking.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in cheese, salt, and white pepper until the sauce is smooth.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the saucepan and stir until pasta is fully coated.
  7. Serve warm with extra shredded cheese on top, if desired.
