Quick and Easy American Mac n' Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Macaroni pasta
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • to taste Fresh Ground Black Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Sprinkle flour over butter, whisking to incorporate and make a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes until mixture is light golden brown.
  3. Pour milk into butter and flour mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Allow mixture to heat up until it’s steaming then whisk in cheese, a little at a time until you have a smooth, thick sauce.
  5. Season sauce with salt and pepper. Stir cooked pasta into sauce until combined. Serve immediately.
