Quiche Lorraine

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet Shortcrust pastry
  • 200 grams Bacon
  • 200 grams Gruyere cheese
  • 250 ml Heavy cream
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Roll out the shortcrust pastry and use it to line a pie tin. Prick the base with a fork.
  3. Fry the bacon in a pan until crisp, then drain on kitchen paper.
  4. Sprinkle the bacon and half of the cheese over the base of the pie crust.
  5. In a bowl, beat together the eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the quiche is set and golden.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
