Midnight Southern Fried Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 piece Chicken Thighs
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • enough to fill pan 1/2 inch Vegetable Oil

Instructions:

  1. Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Soak the chicken in buttermilk for 15 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan until it reaches a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. Take a piece of chicken from the buttermilk, let excess drip off, then coat it thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  6. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil. Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  7. Fry the chicken for about 15 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove the chicken from the pan and let it drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve the fried chicken hot for the best flavor. Enjoy your midnight comfort food!
