Midnight Shrimp Grits

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound shrimp
  • to taste salt & black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grits
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese

Instructions:

  1. Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque.
  5. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add the chicken broth, milk, and grits. Stir until well combined.
  7. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes or until the grits are tender.
  8. Stir in the cheese until melted.
  9. Return the shrimp to the skillet and stir until warmed.
  10. Serve your midnight shrimp grits immediately and enjoy!
