Midnight Cravings - Chinese Style Spicy Garlic Fish

Ingredients:

  • 2 Pieces White fish fillets
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 Teaspoon Red chili flakes
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 Stalks Green onions

Instructions:

  1. Pat the fish dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the fish and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Add the minced garlic and chili flakes and cook until fragrant.
  4. Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and cornstarch in a small bowl. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir well.
  5. Return the fish to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the fillets. Let the fish simmer in the sauce for a few minutes until it is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Slice the green onions and sprinkle over the fish. Serve hot.
