Late Night Salmon Teriyaki

Servings: 2

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces Salmon fillets
  • 4 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 2 stalks Scallions
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and finely minced garlic to form the teriyaki sauce.
  3. Heat up a non-stick pan on medium high heat. Once hot, add the salmon, skin side down and sear for about 3 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  4. Flip the salmon over and sear for another 2 minutes.
  5. Pour the teriyaki sauce into the pan and let it simmer until it thickens slightly, glazing the salmon fillets. Remove the pan from the heat.
  6. Serve the salmon with a sprinkling of sliced scallions and sesame seeds on top, next to your favourite side, whether that's steamed rice, miso soup or a simple salad.
