Late Night Chinese Style Healthy Beef Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams Lean beef steak
  • 2 whole Bell peppers
  • 1 medium-sized Yellow onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch-piece Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 pinch Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Slice the beef steak into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the low sodium soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and honey. Set aside.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  4. Sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  5. Add the onion, and cook until it turns translucent.
  6. Throw in the bell peppers, and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes or until slightly softened.
  7. Increase the heat to high, then add the beef strips. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  8. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and veggies, stirring constantly. Allow it to simmer for about 2 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the sauce has reduced slightly.
  9. Remove from heat, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, then serve hot. This dish is versatile and goes well with brown rice or noodles.
