Servings: 4

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Japanese short-grain Rice
  • 2.5 cups Water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 can Canned Tuna
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 4 sheets Nori Seaweed

Instructions:

  1. Wash the rice until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the rice cooker instructions.
  2. While the rice is cooking, drain canned tuna and mix it with mayonnaise and soy sauce.
  3. When the rice is done, let it cool down a little bit. Wet your hands to keep the rice from sticking, then take about a quarter of the rice and form it into a triangle shape, putting a spoonful of tuna mixture in the middle and covering it more rice.
  4. Wrap the onigiri with a sheet of nori seaweed, then repeat with the remaining rice and tuna.
  5. Enjoy your homemade Japanese tuna onigiris!
