Servings: 2
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 Eggs
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Mirin
- to taste Salt
- as needed Vegetable Oil
Instructions:
- In a bowl, beat the eggs together with the sugar, soy sauce, mirin, and salt.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, then add a small amount of vegetable oil.
- Pour a thin layer of the egg mixture into the pan, letting it spread to the edges. When the egg starts to set, gently roll it towards one end of the pan.
- Push the rolled egg to the side of the pan, add a bit more oil, then pour in another thin layer of the egg mixture. When this starts to set, roll the existing rolled egg over it, creating a layered roll.
- Continue this process until all the egg mixture is used up. Remove the rolled omelette from the pan and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
- Enjoy your Tamagoyaki with steamed rice and pickles for a traditional Japanese dinner.
