
Japanese Grilled Mackerel Breakfast

Ingredients:
- 2 pieces Mackerel fillets
- 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Mirin
- 1 cup White rice
- 2 stalks Green onions
- 1 tablespoon Pickled ginger
- 2 cups Water
Instructions:
- Rinse the mackerel fillets and pat them dry. Prepare a marinade with soy sauce and mirin, and marinate the fillets for at least 10 minutes.
- While the mackerel is marinating, rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Add the rice and 2 cups of water to a saucepan, bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and allow it to simmer for 15 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or broiler. Grill the mackerel on each side for about 5 minutes or until the fish is thoroughly cooked and the skin is crisp.
- Serve the grilled mackerel with a scoop of white rice, some pickled ginger, and a garnish of chopped green onions.
