Japanese Fish Yakitori

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram Fish Fillets
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Mirin
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 4 whole Green Onions
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 8 whole Skewers

Instructions:

  1. Cut the fish into one-inch pieces. Slice the green onions into one-inch pieces as well.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Mix until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Marinate the fish in the sauce for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to seep in.
  4. Preheat your grill or broiler. While it's heating, skewer the fish and green onions alternatively onto your skewers.
  5. Lightly brush the skewers with sesame oil.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, flipping once, until the fish is cooked through and lightly charred.
  7. Serve hot with additional soy sauce for dipping.
