Japanese Brown Rice Porridge

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Brown Rice
  • 4 cups Water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 stalks Green Onions
  • 100 grams Tofu
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Seeds

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the brown rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rice, water, and salt in a large pot.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
  4. Let the rice simmer for about 50 minutes, or until it's tender and the water has been absorbed.
  5. While the rice is cooking, chop the green onions and dice the tofu.
  6. When the rice is done, stir in the tofu and soy sauce.
  7. Serve the porridge hot, garnished with the green onions and sesame seeds.
