Japanese Breakfast Risotto (Chazuke)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Cooked Japanese Rice
  • 2 cups Japanese Green Tea
  • 100 grams Smoked Salmon
  • 2 pieces Pickled Plums (Umeboshi)
  • 1 sheet Nori (Dried Seaweed)
  • to taste Soy Sauce
  • to taste Wasabi

Instructions:

  1. After cooking the rice, divide it between two bowls.
  2. Make the green tea by steeping it in boiling water for three minutes. Pour the tea over the rice.
  3. Slice the salmon thinly and place it on top of the rice.
  4. Remove the pits from the umeboshi, chop them finely and distribute them on top of the salmon.
  5. Crush the nori into small pieces and sprinkle it over everything.
  6. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi on the side. The diner should mix everything together just before eating.
