Japanese Breakfast Fish Rice Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams Fresh white fish fillet (like cod or halibut)
  • 1 cup Short grain rice
  • 2 stalks Spring onions
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Mirin
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 handful Nori seaweed strips

Instructions:

  1. Cook the short grain rice according to packet instructions.
  2. While the rice is cooking, cut the fish into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a medium pan over medium heat, add the fish, soy sauce, mirin and ginger. Cook until the fish is fully cooked through, about 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Slice the spring onions into thin slices.
  5. Divide the cooked rice between two bowls. Top with the cooked fish and drizzle over any remaining sauce from the pan.
  6. Garnish with the sliced spring onions and nori seaweed strips.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy your Japanese Breakfast Fish Rice Bowl.
