Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Beef, thinly sliced
- 3 pieces Spring onions, chopped into 1-inch pieces
- 1/3 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/3 cup Mirin
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Sake
- 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon Ginger, freshly grated
- 6-8 pieces Bamboo skewers
Instructions:
- Soak the bamboo skewers in water for at least 20 minutes to prevent burning.
- Combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved, then allow to simmer until it becomes slightly thickened.
- Thread the beef slices and spring onions onto the bamboo skewers, alternating between both ingredients.
- Dip each skewer into the saucepan, coating the beef and spring onions evenly with the sauce.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Cook the skewers for about 2-3 minutes on each side, turning occasionally and basting with additional sauce.
- Serve the yakitori hot with a sprinkling of sesame seeds, if desired.
