Japanese Beef Teriyaki

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams Beef steak
  • 100 milliliters Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Sake
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin
  • 1 inch, grated Fresh ginger
  • 2 minced Garlic clove
  • 2 cups Steamed rice
  • 2 sliced Scallions

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, sake, mirin, ginger, and garlic to prepare the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Marinate the beef steak in half of the teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a pan with some oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the beef steak to your desired doneness, then remove from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.
  5. In the same pan, add the remaining teriyaki sauce and let it simmer until slightly thickened.
  6. Slice the beef steak and pour the thickened teriyaki sauce over it.
  7. Serve the beef teriyaki over steamed rice and garnish with the sliced scallions.
