Italian Spicy Baked Chicken for Breakfast

Ingredients:

  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 2 cups Low-sodium tomato sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Rub the chicken breasts with the olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with the Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper flakes.
  3. Place the chicken in a baking dish, then slide thin slivers of garlic under the skin of each piece.
  4. Pour the low-sodium tomato sauce over the chicken.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is cooked through, about 45 minutes. Check by cutting into the thickest part of a breast; it should no longer be pink in the middle.
  6. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving for the juices to develope their flavors. Enjoy with a side of vegetables or whole grain bread for a complete meal.
