Italian Beef Lasagna

Ingredients:
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 12 pieces Lasagna noodles
- 1 whole Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes
- 15 oz Ricotta cheese
- 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
- 1 whole Egg
- 1/4 cup Fresh basil leaves
- To taste Salt
- To taste Pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan, one whole egg, and chopped fresh basil. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- To assemble the lasagna, spread a spoonful of tomato sauce in the bottom of your baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread a portion of the cheese mixture over the noodles, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the lasagna with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and browned.
- Remove from the oven and let the lasagna rest for 15 minutes before serving.
