
Indian Comfort Food: Butter Chicken

Ingredients:
- 500 grams Chicken Breast
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 1 large Onion
- 3 pieces Garlic Cloves
- 1 tablespoon, grated Ginger
- 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
- 2 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 400 grams Tomato Puree
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- to taste Salt
- a handful chopped for garnish Cilantro leaves
Instructions:
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- Heat butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onions, and cook until they begin to soften — about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the chicken to the pan and cook until it starts to become golden.
- Stir in garam masala, cumin, and chili powder.
- Add the tomato puree to the pan, stir well, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream, and let the mixture simmer for 10 more minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
- Season with salt, garnish with chopped cilantro, and serve with naan or rice.
