Indian Comfort Chicken Pakoras

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams Boneless Chicken
  • 1 cup Gram flour
  • 1 tablespoon Rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt
  • as required Water
  • for deep frying Vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, wash and drain the water completely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, salt, and mix well.
  3. Add lemon juice to the chicken and mix well. Then add the dry mix to the chicken pieces and mix well ensuring all pieces are coated well. If needed, add water slowly and mix until the batter is thick and coats the chicken well.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. When the oil is hot enough, drop the chicken pieces one by one into the pan. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  5. Fry on medium heat until the pakoras turn golden brown, flipping occasionally for even cooking.
  6. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with ketchup or mint chutney and enjoy your comforting Indian snack!
