Homemade Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • 1 package lasagna noodles
  • 1 whole onion
  • 2 whole garlic clove
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a large saucepan, saute the onion and garlic until soft. Then add the ground beef, and cook until browned.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes to the saucepan, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for about 20 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  5. Spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Then layer lasagna noodles, the ricotta mixture, more tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat the layering process until all of the ingredients have been used, ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
  8. Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your comforting homemade lasagna!
