Homemade Lasagna

Ingredients:
- 1 package lasagna noodles
- 1 whole onion
- 2 whole garlic clove
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 whole egg
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 handful fresh basil leaves
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
- In a large saucepan, saute the onion and garlic until soft. Then add the ground beef, and cook until browned.
- Add the crushed tomatoes to the saucepan, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for about 20 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Then layer lasagna noodles, the ricotta mixture, more tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layering process until all of the ingredients have been used, ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your comforting homemade lasagna!
