
Homemade Japanese Comfort Fish Cake

Ingredients:
- 500 grams Fish fillets
- 2 medium Potatoes
- 2 stalks Scallions
- 1 large Egg
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 0.25 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- enough for frying Vegetable oil
Instructions:
- Boil the potatoes until they are fully cooked, then mash them.
- Chop the fish fillets into tiny pieces.
- Chop the scallions finely.
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped fish, scallions, soy sauce, salt, pepper and egg. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Shape the mixture into medium sized patties, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot enough, fry the patties until they are golden brown on each side.
- Drain the patties on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with a side of soy sauce for dipping. Enjoy your comforting Japanese fish cake snack.
