Hearty Italian Beef Lasagna

Ingredients:
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 12 sheets Lasagna noodles
- 1 whole Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 can Diced tomatoes
- 1 can Tomato sauce
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup Ricotta cheese
- To taste Fresh basil leaves
- To taste Salt and pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until no pink remains in the beef.
- Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce to the mix, then season with salt, pepper, and fresh basil. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a separate pot of boiling salted water, cook the lasagna noodles until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a baking dish, begin by spreading a layer of the meat sauce, followed by a layer of noodles, a layer of ricotta, mozzarella, and a sprinkle of parmesan. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
- Allow to cool for few minutes before serving.
