Healthy Vegetable Biryani

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 medium Carrots
  • 1/2 cup Green peas
  • 1 large Onions
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 2 medium Green chilies
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Biryani masala
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions:

  1. Wash the rice several times until the water runs clear. Soak it for 30 minutes. In the meantime, cut the vegetables.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan, add the sliced onions and green chilies. Saute till the onions turn translucent.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste, fry for a minute until the raw smell goes away.
  4. Now, add the sliced tomatoes, carrots, and peas. Cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes, or till the tomatoes become mushy.
  5. Add in biryani masala and mix it well.
  6. Now, add the soaked and drained rice to the pan. Stir gently.
  7. Pour water and adjust salt as per taste. Let the whole blend come to a boil.
  8. Once the water starts to boil, simmer the flame and cover the pan. Cook for 20 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.
  9. Healthy Vegetable Biryani is ready! Serve it hot and enjoy.
