
Healthy Midnight Beef Bolognese

Ingredients:
- 0.5 pound Extra Lean Ground Beef
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 0.5 Onion
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 1 can Canned Diced Tomatoes
- 1 handful Fresh Basil Leaves
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black Pepper
- 8 ounces Whole Wheat Spaghetti
- for garnish Grated Parmesan Cheese
Instructions:
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until onion is translucent.
- Add the extra lean ground beef to the pan and cook until it's no longer pink. Make sure to break it up into small crumbles as it cooks.
- Pour in the canned diced tomatoes (juice and all) and bring to a simmer.
- While the sauce is simmering, cook the whole wheat spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions. Drain well.
- Season the beef tomato sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Add the fresh basil leaves and stir into the sauce.
- Serve the cooked spaghetti with a generous amount of the beef bolognese sauce. Top with grated parmesan cheese if desired. Buon Appetito!
