Healthy Indian Spiced Beef Hash

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 medium medium russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add cumin seeds to the oil and toast until fragrant.
  2. Add onions, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper to the pan. Break up the meat with your spoon and cook until it is browned.
  4. Drain any excess grease from the pan. Add the turmeric and garam masala and stir until the meat is well coated.
  5. Cut the potatoes into small cubes and add them to the pan. Cook until they are tender and have absorbed the flavor from the meat and spices.
  6. Just before serving, stir in the chopped cilantro. Adjust seasonings if needed.
  7. Serve hot with Indian bread or rice. Enjoy!
