Healthy Indian Grilled Chicken Tikka

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams Boneless Chicken
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • to taste Salt
  • as needed Olive Oil Spray

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, yogurt and salt. Set it aside for at least an hour, or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator for the flavors to really meld together.
  2. Preheat your grill or broiler. While it's heating, skewer the chicken pieces. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior to avoid burning.
  3. Lightly spray the grill with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
  4. Serve the chicken tikka with a side of fresh salads, mint chutney or yogurt dip. Remember, portion control is key in making this a healthy snack.
